From Salerno, does the train continue to Amalfi or do you have to take a bus?

Bus or boat. No trains along the Amalfi coast.

But the boat is fantastic! Its takes off from the dock directly in front of the train station (about 200-300 yards?). In the late spring, summer, and early fall, they run around every hour-ish from fish-5ish I think.... If you can't take the boat, the bus stop is about 40 feet from the station, and since that is where it starts, you have a great chance at getting a good spot (if you wanna see out, get on the left side) and not having to stand the whole way.....
