I am flying into Venice from the U.S. in May and am wondering how efficient and timely it is to get through immigration at the Venice airport?
Thanks
I have done it twice but both before Covid so I can't say what it's like now. In 2017, the line was long and it took an hour to get through. In 2019, the line was long but it moved very quickly because they had implemented a much more automated system - I think I got through the long line in ten minutes. If they no longer have a Covid test requirement by May I'd guess it will be just as fast by then.
Covid test requirements or Vaccine requirements add no additional time to Immigration, all that is checked before boarding in the US by the Airline. No one on arrival asks you anything about that.
Before Covid, we arrived after 10:00pm, and no one seemed to care that we were coming into Italy.
