We will be leaving to join the Sicily 11 day tour later this week.
I am trying to figure out the best way to get the prepaid SIM card. Should I get this at the Palermo airport/Milan airport or should I get it in the US via Amazon prepaid - any recommendation.
In the past, we have always purchased SIM card at the airport.
Like you, I’ve always just purchased it on arrival. It's always been easy. I can’t think of a compelling reason to do it in advance since you know what you’re doing with a SIM card replacement. I think buying in advance is for people who need to time to understand how to install and activate the card, in which case it’s a fine idea. I don’t think there’s really a wrong answer here. I had very good luck last month with a Vodafone for Visitors card and plan, purchased in Italy. Others have been very happy with advance purchase. Do you think you’ll be squeezed for time at the airport?
