Getting ready for Rome (1st time)

First, thanks to all for postings - extremely helpful via searches!
Going Oct 17 - 25, EWR to FCO direct
So far, we've reserved at iq hotel except for last night at Hilton FCO (great suggestion from forum members)
We reserved with the Roman Guy for Colosseum, Vatican and a day trip to Florence (Accademia walk)
Other days - we just like to walk around like the Forum area and some of the other neighborhoods.

Weather looks good - perhaps someone who has been mid to end of October could weigh in
Our nieces went last spring and had a great time - looking forward to meeting the locals and fellow travelers.

Roxbury,
I was in Rome in mid October in 2017, and surprisingly the weather was still warm (high 70s). [I wore short sleeves, a skirt, and walking sandals]

Continue checking the weather before you pack.

Wishing you a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the clothing suggestions & weather information - we stopped by the REI store today to pick up a few things. We both travel super light - and found that the hotel does have laundry facilities on site. I was on wunderground.com for a bit looking at historical but not a bad idea to see what others have experienced.

I sunburn so will bring Columbia SFP clothing and some lotion - and wide brimmed hat.

And Laurel - thanks for the show information - definitely going to check those out if we're still standing!

We did one of those shows in May - the Augustus one - and really enjoyed it. You sit in bleachers with headsets in your own language.
