getting out of Ravello after a concert at night, and where to go latin dancing in Rome and Amalfi

I'm planning a last minute trip to Rome and the AC area, as I haven't been to either places before (have been to Florence, Venice and Cinque Terre). I have 2 weeks- from Aug 28-Sept 10, and will be traveling on a tight budget, possibly staying at air B&Bs, monasteries etc . I thought I'd spend 1 week in Rome and the other week exploring and chilling a bit in the AC. (for a while I was considering hiking in the dolomites, but that would have taken more prep time). I am travelling solo- female 45, totally into being active, and love all aspects of travel. Not a big shopper, not into tourist traps, but being solo want to have the choice of being where the action is, or not, and checking out some night life too- especially live music and dancing (salsa, bachata or Kizomba). If this is not done in the AC, then no problem, I will chill with a book in the evenings! But if you could give me any advice on any or all of the following it would be great:

1) Where to stay in the AC?
I've read several posts here, but not sure what would be best for me- I would like to do some hiking (would be happy to hike all over), do a day trip to Pompei, and check out Positano, the pastry shop in Minori (sounds like a must!), and just wander and explore leisurely- some good long hikes would be great. Some time on the water. (I dont mind some bussing but dont want to spend all my time on a bus)
And some good dancing at night would be awesome- great to do when traveling solo with fellow salseros. From reading here, Sorrento, Salerno or Positano sound possible, and what about Amalfi?

2) Can I get out of Ravello late at night?
I booked a ticket to a concert there on Sept 4th which looks amazing- even though I don't know which town I will be staying in yet. I hear Ravello is a bit too quiet for my whole stay, and difficult for day trips elsewhere. So I need to find out if I have to book a place there for the night of the concert, which starts at 9 pm, or if I can travel back to another town at night- let's say Amalfi or Sorrento or Solerno? (Are there buses at that time of night? Are taxis costly?)

3) Did I mention dance? Maybe salsa, bachata and Kiz are just not big in Italy? but the amazing thing about dance is the ability to dance anywhere with anyone- a great way to spend an evening, meet people in a safe environment...I can't seem to find much online :( Rome and AC.

Q. no. 2

Buses do not operate that late at night. Unless they have special buses for that concert. Taxis are expensive but if you stay in Amalfi or Atrani, which are close, they shouldn't be too dear. It's only about 6 km.

We attended a concert in Ravello, while staying in Amalfi. A travel agent in Amalfi advised us to pre- book a taxi for the return trip, as the buses don't run late at night. As I recall, it was 30 euros, but that was about 10 years ago. I would think your hotel could do the arrangements for you, or use a travel agent in town. Amalfi has good travel connections.

I have enjoyed staying in convents in Italy but I'm not a night-owl. Be sure to check the curfew times before you make your reservation with the non-refundable deposit!

Bus and ferry schedules for the
Amalfi Coast.

IF you can get reservations for lodging in Amalfi stay there. It's more or less central for what you want to see other than Pompeii.
I had checked yesterday on booking.com and places were filling up fast. Book asap.

To conserve time, use the ferries as much as possible.
The busses are packed in September.

For Pompeii, ferry to Sorrento then take the Circumvesuvian to Pompeii. It will save you at least an hour over the bus.

Good idea to prebook a taxi back to Amalfi. Last bus leaves Ravello at 12:25 A M.

The pastry shop in Minori is fantastic. We picked some up to eat there and more to take back to our apartment. Yum!
