I'm staying in Venice for a few days, and wondering what the easiest way to get to Lucca would be. It looks like several train connections, considering that Lucca isn't on a main line. Is it better to make the trip in two days, and stay somewhere inbetween? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

there are several trains daily from Venice Santa Lucia with only one connection. You'll take a Euro star from Venice to Florence and then switch to a regional train to Lucca. Total travel time including the wait for the connection in Florence is around 4 hours.
