Looking for the most efficient way to get to the the Hotel Tiber in Fiumicino the day before our return flight at FCO next month. We will be in Siena and considering train to Florence - Rome Termini - Airport, then using the hotel shuttle (Terminal 3 Arrivals) to get to our destination and actually relax for a while. Does this make sense? Have never traveled in Italy before and hoped others had experience in actually getting to the area around the airport. I also see that we could take the Terravision Bus at the Termini, which goes into Fiumicino Center, though I imagine we'd need a taxi to get to the hotel at that point.
We know we could stay in Rome the night before also but it's an 11am flight and I want to be sure to arrive at the airport well rested and in plenty of time. Plus we're in Rome at the start of our trip - this looked like a new adventure in a different area.
TIA for any recommendations. BTW - we're not averse to car rental but really prefer not to.
