I found your listing for a train that goes to Salerno from Matera , I believe ..Could you please give me the details.The station looks like the Ferrovie Appulo Lucone train...I need to get to Paestum.I believe the only way would be... to go to Salerno first, then train to Paestum. Would you have a time schedule for the train from Matera to Salerno and cost? I don't want to rent a car and taxi shuttle very expensive. Please help me...This is my 2nd attempt to travel through this area as the first attempt never happened due to covid

From Salerno to Paestum you will take a regional train
Those tickets do not need to be purchased in advance
From Matera to Salerno
I think it is a bus connection to Potenza then train to Salerno
Sorry can’t help with that portion
I believe you can book the whole journey from Matera to Paestum on the official Trenitalia site

The train stop for Paestum is just a siding platform, and they only stop for a few seconds. Its important to know if the door on your carriage is working. So check that out, find a door that works, and get ready. Its a bit of a walk to the site, but it is a beautiful walk along the stone walls in to the site.
