Getting from Genoa airport to Brignoli Train Station

Hello,

We are flying into Genoa and planning to take the train to Vernazza. I understand that the Genoa airport has a Vola bus that goes to the train station and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it and how it went. It sounds like you can either buy tickets in the airport or onboard the bus for 6 euro. Can anyone confirm that it's a 30 minute ride to the train station from the airport? We're hoping to get to the station in time to get the regional train which doesn't make as many stops on the way to Vernazza. Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

David

I have no experience with the vola bus but I have driven from the Genoa airport to the city center and vice versa, in various occasions. By car it doesn't take 30 min. Maybe 20, if that. So you always have the option of a taxi, if time is of the essence.
The other issue is the train station.
Genoa has two main stations: Piazza Principe and Brignole. Your train to Vernazza (probably destined to Spezia) almost certainly starts from Piazza Principe, which is closer to the airport.
The airport bus, I am sure, first stops at piazza Principe, then it probably proceeds to Brignole. If I were you I'd get off the bus at Piazza Principe and catch the train from there. You'll save time that way because Brignole is further for the bus to reach. All trains stop at both stations.
