Train, of course, the best way is to hire a car and driver and go in style.

Angela, it's a 3hr 40min journey to Genoa (Genova) from Florence (Firenze) with one train change at Pisa. Fare runs from 16.80Euro - 33.80Euro depending on the run. Some runs are Regionale/Intercity (16.80) and some runs are Regionale/Frecci fast train (33.80Euro).
