Getting from FCO airport in Rome to hotel in historic center of Rome

Hello,

What is the best way to get from FCO airport in Rome to a hotel located in the historic center of Rome? Specifically, we are staying at the Hotel Nazionale. Is uber an option? Is a taxi the best option? If so, what price should I expect? Thanks,

Jason

Italy only has Uber Black, which I believe is the higher-priced spread. Take a legal Roman taxi from the rank outside FCO. Do not go with anyone offering you a ride. Stand in line and wait. OR you can prearrange Roma Cab. Last time we used them I think it was Euro 55.

The best way, in my opinion, is a private car service. After a long flight, probably some jet lag, and not being familiar with the area, there is nothing better than having a private driver meet you inside the terminal and take you to your hotel. No fending off the so called independent cabs, waiting in the regular taxi line, or just having a "lost" feeling. It cost a little more, but not much. We can not say enough good things about Rome Cabs. It is a private car service despite the name. We always use them and have always been very pleased. Go to romecabs.com and see what you think. We just send an email and they answer us with a quote within 24 hours.

Obviously it depends on your definition of best, but the taxi works well. You could do the Leonard Express and then walk to your hotel since it is about three blocks from the Termini. I would do that given that I would want the exercise at the long plane ride but also depends a little on how much luggage you have.

On our last few trips to Rome we used Sun Transfers for airport pickup. Always had driver meet us inside airport, help with luggage and drive to hotel. Flat rate, very reliable and professional. Suntransfers.com

We arranged transportation from FCO to our hotel at Campo di Fiore through the hotel. I looked up your hotel and it offers that service, so contact it to see what they charge.
