I am going to be in Bolzano on June 13th and I would like to get from this town to the Alpe di Siusi. I don't have a car so I will have to rely on public transporation or a taxi. Has anyone ever done this trip successfully? I do have the full day for this adventure.
Suggestion will be very helpful! Thanks!
It's easy to take the bus, about 1 hour each way, which departs Bolzano 2x/hour Monday-Friday and a little less on weekends. See www.sii.bz.it or pages 251 & 259 in Rick's Italy book,.

Are you going to be arriving in Bolzano by train and then travelling directly to Alpi di Siusi from the station? If that's the case, the walk to the Bus depot is not long or difficult. As I recall, you'll go left out of the station and the Bus depot is a couple of blocks. It's all level so not a difficult walk.
Thank you, Laura and Ken for your replies.
Laura, I do have an older version of Rick Steves' Italy book and I will look up this area in the book.
Ken, I am staying near the train station but from my map, I see that the bus station is within easy walking distance.
So this trip is doable in one day?
This trip is easily doable in a day. The public buses are very nice and keep to the schedules nicely. Since you're traveling on a weekday you should have no problems!
Last year I got on the bus outside the train station and just a few feet to the right. No problem buying a ticket onboard. It's a beautiful ride, sit on the left side for all the fun!
