Getting around san stefano sicily

We are looking to visit San stefano the day before we start your best of sicily tour this March. We are looking to visit a specific cemetery to do some genealogy research on our family. We plan on taking the train to San Stefano from Palermo but we can not find any information on getting around san stefano when we get there. Is there any public transportation like busses or taxis to get us to a variety of sites around the town? Thank you for any advice you can share with us.

You have reached the Forum, populated by travelers such as yourself. It’s certainly possible that someone has been to San Stefano and can advise you, but you probably need to contact actual Rick Steves personnel, so you need to use ‘contact us’ on the blue bar at the bottom of this page. They’re very nice, friendly, and helpful!

Do you mean Santo Stefano di Camastra? If so, it’s at least 2 hours by train from Palermo, but an hour and a quarter by car. We had a car. I would think that you’d benefit from hiring a driver in Palermo to get you there and then to the cemetery. But maybe someone will have a better idea for you. We went there because it has our favorite ceramics in all of Italy—- bright red, orange, and teal. We plan to return to the town in the spring to get more of it.
