I can't find any answers or updated maps of this airport. Do you know how far away the Delta and Alitalia gates are and how do you get from one to another? Also, Alitalia tells me my bag will be automatically transferred from Delta because they are partners, while Delta tells me I will have to pick up my bag and get to the Alitalia gates. Will I have to go through customs in Rome? I have two hours to figure this out when I'm there! Thanks for your help.

At what airport are you making a transfer to a connecting flight, and where is your final destination? Rome? If so, Delta should automatically transfer your bags to your connecting flight as long as they are part of the same "ticket".

I agree, that Delta should transfer the bags to Alitalia, and I will try to find another contact at Delta to confirm. I didn't buy my tickets directly through Delta, though my e-ticket at Delta includes the Alitalia flight. Thanks for your help ... cross your fingers. t.
