Getting around in a a Van in Tuscany countryside/towns.

A group of six of us will be renting some rooms for four nights in the Tuscany country side. We will be picking a van up at the FCO airport. We are planning on renting the van to see the country side/small towns. How are the roads in the Tuscany country side and towns? Are they very narrow? Will maneuvering a van be a big problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

We rented a Mercedes Vito (huge!) in Florence and travelled to Radda in Chianti, Volpaia & Lucca. Main roads were fine though GPS twice took us on tight small inner roads.

4 people I know just got back last night from Italy. A week was spent in Umbria doing this exact thing. They had a van and at times one would have to get out of the car to navigate the driver through narrow roads in the small towns. It didn't stop them from doing it. They said they got a GPS from the rental place but it stopped working and they had to use a lot of data to get around. They had an amazing time and the weather was perfect.

Have a great time.
I go next week!
