Getting a Riomaggiore train ticket ahead of my trip

I will be coming from Siena to La Spezia and then to the Cinque Terre, specifically Riomaggiore. I have bought all of my connection confirmations (3 of them) and want to buy my last one to Riomaggiore. The Trenitalia website keeps asking me for a different station name when I put my destination as Riomaggiore. I only have about 20 minutes to make the Riomaggiore connection from La Spezia and thought it would be faster if I already had my confirmation turned into a ticket possibly in Siena as I am doing with the other legs of the train trip. Then it could be stamped and I could hop on the CT train. Would the destination be Levanto, or somewhere else north of there? Would appreciate your thinking on what station to list as the destination. Thanks, Carol

carol, You should be able to purchase your ticket to Riomaggiore when you arrive in Siena. You'll be travelling on a local train and the trip from La Spezia to Riomaggiore is only about 8-minutes. This is definitely not a ticket you'd need to buy a long way in advance. With a connection time of 20-minutes, you should also have more than enough time to buy the ticket when you arrive in La Spezia, either from a Kiosk or the ticket office (which is open from 05:15 to 20:25 daily). If the train stops after about 8-minutes and you're in a tunnel, it's time to disembark! Be sure you notice the method to release the door, as the train only stops for a short time. When you're standing in the station plaza, the main part of town is through the "tunnel" that runs parallel to the tracks. Turn left at the end of the tunnel and you're there! Happy travels!

Why did you buy the connections separately? You can buy 1 ticket from Siena to Riomaggiore and I would not buy it in advance, in fact you cannot buy this more than a week in advance online. I don't know why you're having problems pulling up the Riomaggiore station because I am able to search it when using the English version of the Trenitalia website with no problem.
