Get Your Guide vs Roman Guy

Which do you prefer? Getting Colosseum tours and just wondering if one is better than the other.

Get Your Guide is a reseller-they don’t actually run any tours ( same for Viator)

Roman Guy is an actual tour company that runs their own tours

In GYG you can usually drill down and find the name of actual tour company

I’d book with an actual tour company

Walks of Italy is another tour company that gets good reviews here

Walks of Italy is all booked up in October as is City Wonders. Is City Wonders decent? What exactly is coopculture Is it just tickets or is it associated with tours? Anyone?

JR. I'm not seeing that all Walks of Italy's tours which include the Colosseum are "completely booked" for October. Which of their tours were you interested in? And I'd look at The Roman Guy's tours before City Wonders. Pricewise, Coopculture is the best bet EXCEPT that they don't have a tour which includes the Colosseum, Palatine and Forum, and tickets for tours which include the Colosseum underground are very difficult to land.

I may be in the minority, but heres my experience (From Jan 2023). We booked an underground tour through CoopCulture.

Getting into the Colosseum was long and painful, even in Jan. The underground tour had about 30 people in it. Whist we had ear pieces we could not see what the guide was showing as it was quite cramped, and I think there were too many people on the tour. The best part of the tour was walking on the private entrance around the base of the colosseum floor. You felt like the only ones in the whole colosseum. We then went onto the arena, and then that was it. There was no tour of the upper levels, and you were kind of left alone.

For the Palentine and forum, our ticket got us in. Trying to find a tour to take use just for the Forum and paelntine was really difficult. In the end I hired a private guide for 2 hours, but that cost me 150. He was brilliant though

If i had my time again, I would probably book a roman guys tour or something similar, now I have seen the underground.
