Genoa to Principi Station

We are arriving at Genoa airport at 10AM on a Monday. Do we have enough time to (go though customs and) get to Principi Station to catch a 12:07 Eurostar train? If we make reservations in advance and miss the train (due to the flight being late), may I get a credit for my ticket for another train? Is it even necesseary to make advance reservations for first class on the 12:07 Eurostar train, or would it be OK to wait to purchase when we get to the train station? Thanks for you guidance.

Hi Steve, I can only help you with your first question. The airport in Genoa is very small and a breeze to get out of. There is no real "going through customs" to worry about. As long as you are going to take a taxi to Principe station, then you will have no trouble at all getting there in time for your train. Sorry I can't help with with the other questions. Buon viaggio!

Hi Steve. On that train, first class is likely to be almost empty. The reason to buy in advance would be a discount price. You can see all of the choices on trenitalia.com. The 'base' price is what you would pay if you wait and buy when there. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much Bob and Kathy. I had been considering taking the Volabus from Genoa airport to Principe station. Do you suggest that it would be better to take a cab?

Hi again Steve, I have never taken the Volabus (actually I've never heard of it and was glad to learn about it--thank you. We have relatives in Genoa and they have always picked us up at the airport.) I don't really know what to tell you. All I know is there can be a lot of traffic in Genoa and, depending what time you get on the bus, you might be cutting it close. You only have a two-hour window in which to land, disembark, (perhaps wait for luggage,) get to the bus stop, hope it leaves on time, get through the city, find the correct train track. Personally, I would plan to take a taxi. Less stressful. Good Luck!
