Genoa to Monterosso

Probably too late to seek advice, but here goes. We are about to fly from CDG to Genoa, and I still have not figured out the most direct train to get us to Monterosso. And for that matter, how to get from the Genoa airport to the selected train station

Any advice? I will check back after our flight.

Merci!!

Take the Volabus to Genova Brignole station. 6 euro per person. From Brignole station you can get a direct train to Monterosso about every half hour.

....... and for future reference use trenitalia.com to check schedules and prices. Regional trains will not show on the schedule if you are looking more then 7 days out from current date.

Excellent advice! That is just what we did, and except for the fact that we selected an intercity bus instead of a regional one, and ours lacked a/c on a really hot day, the trip was a success.

Grazie!

jhg,

You used a Bus? I'm assuming you meant an InterCity train. One point to mention is that when travelling on the Regionale trains, you MUST validate your tickets prior to boarding the train on the day of travel, or risk a hefty fine which will be collected on the spot!

Thanks, Ken, for that correction. I did mean train, not bus.

Thanks too for the validation reminder. We had tickets checked a couple of times, and fortunately we always validate.
