We (4 sisters) are flying in and out of Genoa and need a place to stay - is there anything near the airport?
The Genoa airport is quite close to the city, so you don't really need to stay there. Several years ago, we stayed at a hotel that is on the piazza where the train station is located. I'm mentioning it because there is a very cheap bus - - 1 euro in 2004 - -from the airport to that piazza. I assume it also runs in the other direction. I can't remember the hotel name, but it's actually two hotels in the same building, one significantly cheaper than the other. Perhaps you could find it from the location.
Sure! It's not cheap, but a night at Palazzo Cicala, a 17th Century Genovese palace, is certainly memorable. It's located just across from San Lorenzo, next to a nice little bar: http://www.palazzocicala.it. A quick taxi ride to the airport.
