Genoa for one night before flight

We will be in Genoa only one night before we fly out. Does anyone know of accommodation that would be close to the airport and suitable - our flight is very early. If there is something "must-see" in Genoa we will take some time the day before we fly out, but otherwise we will arrive in the evening. Any ideas?

La Lanterna (ancient lighthouse tower) is the only thing Genoa is famous for. Other than that it's probably one pretty ugly port city. I carruggi (small characteristic alleys) are also worth a walk. I don't know if they are as dangerous as they used to be (crime). Whenever I passed by, for one reason or another, I stopped only for one reason: to eat at the Ristorante Da Rina. That was definitely worth a visit. I hope it is as good as it used to be in the old days. http://www.ristorantedarina.it/ I have never stayed in town overnight so I can't help with the hotel.

Last September we took an enjoyable 4 night break in Genoa and plan to return this coming September to finish off our sightseeing. We stayed in the Best Western City Hotel and were able to walk to the places we wanted to see. Hope to return there next time. The hotel arranged our taxi to the airport, it cost about 18 euro and took about 20 - 25 minutes. This tourist office guide has a list of things to see and there is also a hop on hop off bus service with a stop less than 5 minutes from the hotel. http://www.genova-turismo.it/spip.php?rubrique60
