In planning our trip to Northern Italy, I've come across Genoa on the map but nothing in the guide book. (yes, I know that a guide book can't comment on everyplace.) Has anyone visited Genoa? If so, what are your feelings about this northern Italian town? We go to italy for history, art, culture...and, of course, the food.

Not sure Genoa is considered northern Italy but that said it's not a real touristy town. It has some interesting medieval remnants and the last time we were there a nice aquarium not sure I would go out of my way to visit though.

The best course is to pick up a different book and read up on what is there.
