General Timing Question after Landing at VCE

My plane (Turkish Airlines) lands at VCE at 7:15 pm. General Questions:

Assuming plane lands at 7:15, that I checked in luggage - how much time should I assume it takes to get to my hotel in Venice (Hotel Moresco)? Do I still have time for a dinner? I just don't know how long luggage, customs, taxi, etc..Would I still want to try and make a reservation at 10 pm or just go to closest restaurant and hope for the best. I know in some countries (Puerto Vallarta most recently) - places say they close at 9:30 and then you find out that the kitchen closes or they took last orders at 8:30 or 8:45. Not sure what is customary in Italy (specifically Venice which is beginning city). I know actual results will vary but I'm wondering what others experiences are in this matter. Maybe I just plan on eating the next morning?

How are you getting to the Moresco? It looks to be an easy walk from Piazzale Roma if you are taking the bus. Al Vinatier in the Piazzale says kitchen open until 10:30 pm.

You probably should just find a restaurant after you get into Venice. Who knows how long it'll take to get your luggage? Italy operates on their own time. You'll have a 20 minute cab ride to the train station. Then you will then have to find your hotel, and Venice can make you feel like a rat in a maze when navigating those alleyways.

Fortunately you can find your hotel on Google Maps. But when you go to find it, getting there's a different thing. I suggest you carry a small flashlight as reading the signs up on the buildings can be difficult if it's after dark.

My granddaughter asked me where we were in Venice last June. I said, "Honey I don't know where we are and I don't know where we're going. But we'll eventually get there." And that was at least my 10th trip to Venice.

It looks like your hotel is very close to Piazzale Roma. I would take the bus from the airport. It takes about 25 minutes. Then it’s a short walk to your hotel. You might contact your hotel in advance and ask about restaurants nearby that are open late. The day of the week that you arrive might impact restaurant hours also.

It's hard to predict if your flight will be timely and how long it will take to clear passport control and retrieve luggage at baggage claim. However Venice is not a large airport, and on average you should be out of the terminal in way less than one hour from the moment the plane arrives at the gate.

From the moment you have luggage in your hands and are at the taxi stand aboard a taxi cab you will be on Piazzale Roma in less than 20 min.

If you opt for the ATVO Express bus it will take about the same time as a taxi, but the bus is every 30 min, so you could potentially have to wait 30 min for the next one.

From Piazzale Roma to your hotel is a 5 min walk.

Most restaurants in cities like Venice stay open until 11pm.

Pack a few easy to carry snacks with you just in case.
Protein bars, fruit leather, etc.
I always wake up hungry in the middle of the first night with jet lag, so they might come in useful even if you did find a late dinner!
I also would ask your hotel in advance what is available in the area.
