Gelato Fest!

We lucked into this the last time we were in Florence and had a TON of fun sampling the amazing recipes of gelato artisans! Num, num, nummy, OMG....

It starts in Florence tomorrow and moves to Roma, Torino and Milano after that:

Firenze (Piazzale Michelangelo, 21 - 25 Aprile)
Roma (Terrazza del Pincio, 29 Aprile โ€“ 1 Maggio)
Torino (Piazza Solferino, 25 โ€“ 28 Maggio)
Milano (Piazza Castello, 1 - 4 Giugno)

Buy the ticket/bracelet either in advance or when you get there. More info:

Some of the text is in Italian only but just copy/paste it into google or bing translate to get the gist. Like I said, we just stumbled into the thing and didn't have trouble figuring out how it worked.

Prego, Zoe!

A note of amusement? The winner of the competition that year was โ€œNoce Pecan e Sciroppo dโ€™Acero Canadeseโ€ (Pecan and Canadian Maple Syrup) by...wait for it...Bella Gelateria in Vancouver, B.C. Who woulda thunk it?

We had that one; it was killer. ๐Ÿจ

I went to this last year in Florence, it was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it! No need to buy in advance, it was easy at the automated machine they had set up!

Yep, we bought ours at the fest but at an information booth. Sounds like they've changed that process but glad to hear it's still easy, Dan!

Thanks so much for mentioning this! Daughter will be in Roma for it. I'm very jealous.

Me too, Kathy. Positively green with envy. ๐Ÿคข

BTW, you wouldn't happen to have been born in the 1950's? Kathys and Debbies and Vickis....oh my! :O)

Why, yes, Kathy, I was born in the 50s - ha ha! The most "popular" name in my HS graduating class was Debbie followed by Kathy. How did you guess?

Born in 1955. There were at least 4-5 Kathys in my (smallish) graduating class and as many Debbies.
They wore both of those names out in the 50's, I swear. Are you a Katherine, a Kathleen or a Kathryn? I'm the last spelling.

(Sorry for jumping the tracks, non-Kathys and Debbies. Back to gelato!!!)

Wow, I'll have to keep this in mind when planning future visits.

Best one I had was years ago in Rome, grand mariner. I haven't been able to find it since that trip.

Thanks for sharing.
