We used Gate1 Travel two years ago to book an independent fly/drive trip to Florence and had a marvelous time. We extended our rental car by a few days and also changed our return flight for two weeks later and after turning our rental car in, we took the train to other cities. Going back to Tuscany again this spring (will be our third trip) for a shorter trip (flying in and out of Florence and staying in Montecatini) and was going to book again with Gate1 but have discovered Tripmasters offers more options for hotels and includes the last night in Florence which is the airport we will fly out of. This certainly makes sense and makes me feel a little more secure to be closer to the airport.
Has anyone had experience with Tripmasters? I have found mixed reviews and people seem to love them or hate them. If I could book my trip completely on my own for a reasonable amount of money I would do it, but these bundled packages save big $$$. Airfare alone, every which way I have tried it, is at least $300 more than the bundled package with hotel and rental car. Google flights, booking.com, you name it..... (Flying in and out of Washington, Dulles, by the way.)
