Has anyone traveled in this section of Italy? I am thinking about spending a few days there, but would welcome any feedback. Grazie.

Kit, whilst I didn't quite get to the Gargano (from Foggia I went inland to see Lucera, then back to the coast at Trani), there is much to see in Puglia. A car is probably necessary, and nothing is too far away. I travelled mostly on the local roads which were more picturesque and allowed stops for photographs. Lecce is a lovely baroque town, looking fabulous at night when floodlit. Frederick kindly left many castles to visit, there are stunning churches, pretty beaches, a cave town. Spring, with almond blossom, poppies etc, is just gorgeous.
