Garden to visit

We'll be in Italy first and second week in September. What are some of the best Gardens or great parks in Florence or Rome to visit. We like to see & learn a different style of gardening and hardscape from US. OR do you think it might be too late in the season. thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Villa d’Este in Tivoli is beautiful in any season. It is about an hour train ride from Rome. Lots of fountains, interesting rock structures, pathways, statues. We love to go there and tour, have a late lunch, and come back, making a full day of it.

In Florence, there are the Bardini Gardens.
You go in at the bottom, and work your way up.
At the top, you go out the gate, cross a tiny road, and enter the top of the Boboli Gardens on the same ticket.
Bardini is small and not many people there.

Another vote for the Bardini Gardens, and you might enjoy the Botanical Garden in Florence which is just a short walk from Piazza San Marco. The staff may be able to suggest other gardens to visit.
