Curious 2018 guide ,in Lake section, why Garda isn't mentioned? I been following on GARDA PAGE (FB) We are frugal seniors, plan to spend 4 or 5 d. there this fall,possibly staying in Sirimone ,flying into VCE,renting car, driving east to PADUA,the VENETO area ,THEN TO Santuario Maria Della Corona(reason for this trip) then down to Abano terme (other termes in Veneto to recommend?) Then 1 or 2 d. in Ravenna and back to VCE, staying on the mainland . Comments welcome.

We stayed in Sirimone in September 2017 for 2 nights and loved it! It is beautiful. Splurged for a room with incredible lake view at Hotel Ideal way out on the point and loved it. Not sure if that would qualify as frugal but were happy we went for it. We took the train there and then train to Venice after so you might consider train if you don't need the car while you're there. If you stay on the actual island driving is difficult, staying on the mainland would be easier with a car/parking etc. but won't give you the same resort feel. The Roman ruins there are really cool. Looking forward to returning at some point to explore more of the lake by ferry etc!
