Does anyone know if the garbage strike in Rome is over? Has anyone visited very recently and noticed any overflowing garbage near restaurants for example? Thank you in advance for any helpful information.

We went in July and I didn't notice any overflow of garbage. The streets have a few pieces of liter but nothing that I would think was an issue. But I'm from NYC so perhaps I wasn't noticing and am more used to it than others.

Both worth reading for recent information. The gist is that there is no significant issue for tourists.
