Galleria dell'Accademia

Hello
I am wondering if I can book advance tickets for this museum for next May? I go to the official website but it reverts back to Italian when I click Buy Tickets.

It looks as though it only goes to next March. Am I reading this correctly? So I'm too early?

Does this give us a time slot to enter?

Thank you for any advice.

Sharon.

I've tried that too, with the same results. I think it is too early.

Is it better to book through the official websites for advance skip the line tickets? I just booked the Uffizi gallery online through Viator (TripAdvisor) with an advance time of 8:30 a.m. in May of next year. Was this wise? I think I might have been ripped off? I thought it sounded like a good deal compared to other sites that were offering tickets. But the official sites seem to be a lot cheaper. The confirmation email came from "Musement". Anyone know this company?

Thanks for any advice.

Viator is a business, and I assume it adds on a service fee when it sells admission tickets. I'd always try the museum's website first.

You can book through the museum website or call them. Not sure if you can get it this early but what you get is a reservation for a specific time and day. It costs 4 euro. You will go to the line for reserved tickets after you have paid for your tickets plus the 4 euro at a small shop across the street from the museum. This will cut your wait time considerably.

I often book through Select Italy, a broker for tours and tickets, rather than spend a lot of time on the phone. You can buy tickets only, or other products. The ticket markup is about 100% of face value, but for a ticket or two, I can live with that. I have also been able to buy tickets before they go on general sale.

If Viator sold you an entire tour, you are paying a lot more than you need to; RS podcasts can get you through a tour of Firenze
