After seeing the vatican and palantine museum I am afraid we will be on museum overload. How different is Borghese? Worth it? They are on different days.
The Galleria Borghese is entirely different. As they only allow 300 people in at once, it is not so crowded and it has some of the best sculpture in Italy. Go to the second floor first, to see the paintings, then as the crowd that invariably crowds the main floor first makes its way upstairs, you will have a better chance at seeing the statues without a huge crowd. The audio guide they offer is excellent.
I echo laurel completely. I would tell you to go 'just' for Apollo and Daphne.
The Borghese is my personal favorite and has excellent crowd control compared to the Vatican Museums. You are restricted to 2-hour visits, and it's easily seen in that amount of time so it's also not as exhausting as the Vatican. Great collection in a fascinating structure!
Another vote for Borghese - The art work is amazing.
It is rather small compared to the major museums in Rome - but well worth a visit.

The Borghese is exceptional and the Bernini Marbles are unique in the world of art . As you look at " Apollo and Daphne " . and " Persephone " . you will think you are seeing flesh rather than stone . Do not miss this place . Watch this video by the art historian Simon Schama to acquaint you with the work of Gian Lorenzo Bernini - https://youtu.be/y9nbDXdmLaE
The Galleria Borghese is our favorite museum in Rome. Be sure to reserve a time to visit.
Add me to the chorus-Borghese was so great-it is not overwhelming like the Vatican museum, and it is so nice that they limit the number of people allowed inside. It would be worth it just for the Berninis! Enjoy!
Thanks to all. This travel forum is the best!
The Borghese is absolutely worth it. If I recall correctly, you buy tickets (you can buy them on-line and in advance) for a specific time. I think they allow you 2 hours but what a treasure-filled place! Additionally, afterwards you are free to stroll through the lovely gardens (there is even a zoo nearby - additional charges apply). So go and enjoy yourself!
We went on the English speaking tour. It was slightly crowded that way, but the tour guide was wonderful, and we learned a lot! As previously mentioned, make sure to plan on spending some time in the park outside. It is wonderful! We rented a 4 person bike cart and rode around the park. A lot of fun, and the food carts serving sandwiches and gelato outside are surprisingly good.
Just visited, took a guided tour, not too be missed!
