Galleria Borghese: free/reduced entry with Roma Passes discontinued

Just saw this on the Roma Pass website:

http://www.romapass.it/en/buy/

The service with Roma Pass is temporarily suspended with GALLERIA
BORGHESE. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I've no idea what they mean by "temporary" but wouldn't hold my breath. And on the museum's ticketing website (https://www.tosc.it/tickets.html):

Info Roma Pass We hereby inform you that the agreement between Roma
Pass and Galleria Borghese starting from June 15th,2019 is no longer
active For this reason, reservations using Roma Pass are no longer
accepted. Visitors will be asked to pay their tickets following the
price categories provided by the Ministry.

One more strike against the Roma Pass, IMHO.

That pretty much kills the utility of the Pass. The Colosseo complex plus Borghese would about pay for it. Now, why bother? Just buy a bus pass and pre-book tickets. Too bad Rome can’t come up with a pass like the Paris Museum Pass.

I suspect the problem for Rome is that its most popular sights are a mix of city, provincial, national and private museums, more so than in other cities like Florence and Paris. Getting them all on the same page might be an ongoing challenge, especially with respect to how the revenue is divided.

You're welcome, Laura! It takes the RS village to keep track of the latest curveballs 'round the world, and we're lucky that we have MANY eyes besides just mine on those balls! :O)

Laurel, I'm with you in being able to find little reason to purchase this pass anymore, and I'm close to feeling the same about the Firenzecard.

Thanks for posting this new information. We dodged a bullet there. We did the math last week and even though it was close we decided to buy individual tickets for the coliseum/forum venue and Borghese when they become available for our August visit. We’ll probably buy some day tickets for transportation but I suspect we’ll enjoy walking a lot with our first time visitors, our granddaughters. I am sorry for the people who did the math for their situation and now won’t be able to use the RomaPass at the Borghese. Italy is never easy where tickets, days/times and offers are concerned.

Mona, that's such a great decision! Rome is a terrific "walking city" and I highly recommend experiencing it that way as much as possible. :O)

Editing to add:

I haven't checked the Borghese schedule but tickets for the Colosseum, depending on what sort you are looking to buy, have been available for August for some time: the first batch of "ordinary entrance" scheduled access tickets went on sale back in May. The 2nd batch will release on July 2 at 3 PM Rome time. For Belvedere and Underground tours, the next batch release online only on July 4th at 3 pm, Rome time, for August dates. See the coopculture website:

BTW, the Belvedere level has been closed for some weeks now for some sort of repair. It was supposed to open again end of May but is still closed with no word (that I've seen) on when it'll be accessible again.

Thanks Kathy. We bought standard Coliseum, etc tickets last week when we made this 50/50 decision. Even that was a bit tricky for us this time because of ages, having two teens with us. We bought something I hope will work at coopculture. We have a Plan B.

Excellent. It wasn't clear whether you'd done so or intended to do so. You bought from the coopculture site, yes?

Yes Kathy, we bought our tickets at coopculture.it. Four weeks and counting, can’t wait.
