I've purchased tickets online for a 9:00 a.m. tour of the Galleria Borghese. I understand that from the voucher that the tickets must be picked up by 8:30 a.m. or they are forfeited. My question....can these be picked up the day before or must I wait until the morning of the tour to get these? Thanks!
You can only pick them up the same day. Donna
Thank you, Donna!
First you will stand in line (with everyone else with that time slot) to get your tickets (then they sell the unclaimed tickets to hopefuls who are waiting, so if you are late, your tickets will be gone). Then you line up to check your cameras, cell phones, etc. Then you line up (if you so choose) to rent an audio guide (have picture ID ready - driver's license is good). Then you line up to go into the galleries. Best to be there by 8 a.m. I suggest you go directly to the top floor, since most people will start on the lower floor, then go downstairs, thus missing the crowds. Also you have exactly two hours and there's a lot to see, so you may want to take advantage of the toilets before the tour begins.
I was at the Borghese Gallery last week, bought the tickets on-site the day before the appointment and was given the tickets at the time of purchase. I was advised to be there 20 minutes before the appointment time. It went very smoothly. Good advice about starting at the top.
Excellent idea! Thank you!
Thank you all for such wonderful advice. I was trying to imagine how I should manage getting the tickets, checking my camera/bag and navigate the museum. This is wonderful advice....So, Next Friday, we'll be there by 8 (with empty bladders) and, once in, head to the top floor!
We split up, hubby went and checked our stuff in and I got our tickets, made things much easier.
