Can anyone please let me know if advanced tickets are needed for the Galileo museum in Florence? Traveling in early September if that matter for this venue.
We went to the Galileo museum last October and easily purchased our tickets as we entered the museum. I was shocked that there were only a few other people there during our entire visit but maybe it was because we were there at opening hour. So no, I wouldn't pre-purchase tickets. Have a good time - it's a marvelous museum!
There are only a couple of museums that you should get tickets in advance for: the Uffizi and the Accademia. Sometimes even the Accademia tickets can be bought across the street at the gift shop with a 15-30 minute wait time.
My experience is the same as Nance's except I went midday. This is a very interesting museum!
Buy them at the door. You shouldn't be waiting more then 5 minutes for a ticket.
Agreed with above opinions.
Bought tickets earlier this month directly at the museum after entering, no line, no crowds inside either.
Try to find Galileo's fingers and tooth when you are there.
