Gaetano's Pompeii Tours what is the cost?

It's not on his website? Trying to decide to use him or self-guide. I'm hearing impaired and although not deaf...sometimes it's difficult to hear if I'm not standing right next to someone.

flygirl if you can't book Gaetano there is also the option of using one of the accredited guides that are available at the entrance to the site. It's a good idea to talk to one for a couple of minutes before deciding, to make sure you can understand their accent when they speak English. They give you a 2 hour tour, a great overview of a site that is very very large. Not easy to self-guide in there, even if you have a good map. I can't remember the cost but it is something in the 50 Euro range for a private guide. Well worth it - and cheaper than Gaetano.

The old days of a tour guide shouting at a group are pretty much gone. Overwhelmingly I saw guides using some sort of infrared microphone with all his/her people wearing earphones.

My group of four paid something like 180 euros but we gave him 200 euros even. He was fascinating.
