Is anyone aware of a ferry from Piran, Slovenia to Venice, IT? We are planning on spending a week traveling around in Slovenia and would like to take a boat to Venice to catch a train to Milan.

A quick Google search shows ferry service on Venezia Lines. However, currently no sailings are listed. It's my guess that service will resume in the spring.

I know this is slightly off the subject, but wanted to share our experience which we enjoyed...We spent two days in Ljubiana (sp.?) & then took a train from there through southern Austria with a glimpse of the Alps and on to Venice...Nice train, decent food, good view - very positive...Marty

Just be aware that the ferry from Piran to Venice does not operate daily. You will need to plan around the availability (and weather). I'd have a Plan B in mind.
