From Rome to Where?

Will be 4 days in Florence and 4 days in Rome at the beginning of Sept. am having such indecision as to where to spend last 4 days? Fly out of Florence on day 13. We would like to unwind from cities at a scenic water based area. Know CT well, is Lake Como area an option?

Look at a map of Italy. Mark where Rome and Florence are with a marker. Then look at where Lake Como is. Is that a good option? I don't know. You decide. I realize that the Rick Steves' tribes have an uncontrollable desire to visit only the 5 or 6 places RS mentions most often, but you don't have to go so out of your way to find something water based and nice in Italy. It's a peninsula with 5,000 miles of coastline, so water will be there, somewhere. The Latium's and Umbria's lakes (Bracciano, Bolsena, Albano, Trasimeno, to name a few) is one option. Another option is the coast or the islands (either the Ponziane or the Tuscan Archipelago). Take a look at the following options on Google Images:
Isola di Ponza, Isola del Giglio, Isola D'Elba, Monte Argentario, Porto Santo Stefano, Porto Ercole, Castiglion della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Castiglioncello, Quercianella, Versilia. I mentioned only some of the places on major bodies of water.
