From Rome's main train station to our hotel

We are staying in a hotel off the Via Veneto, rather near the Piazza Navona, and I am wondering what is the easiest way to get there? Taxi, bus? It's the Hotel Fontanella Borghese, on Largo Fontanella Borghese, 84, Rome.

Thank you,
Laurel

Largo Fontanella Borghese is very close to the Monte Citorio Palace (Parliament-House of Representatives).
From the station you can take a bus, the taxi or even the Metro to Piazza di Spagna, then walk from the Spanish steps straight through via Condotti (where the fanciest shops in town are) to your hotel (about 1/4 of a mile).
If you have luggage, I'd go for the taxi. It's a short ride, probably around 15-20 euro max. Once you check in your luggage, you'll be go around primarily on foot, because you are in the middle of everything there. Colosseum/Forum and Vatican are a little farther, but still walkable.

Easiest and quickest would be a taxi, take one from the queue at the station, ask the price before hand, better yet have already asked the hotel what a taxi would cost. Cheapest would be bus or metro, closest station is Spagna, still a good walk away, A bus would get you closer, again, the hotel would be the best source of info on which one.

Just happened to look at the hotel website, they say a taxi would be about 12 euro. If you are coming from the airport, you might consider getting a taxi from there, for two you will have about 30 euro in Leonardo Express tickets, plus the 12 euros for a taxi...~42 euro...taxi from airport, fixed 48 euro.

I am with Paul. I would do the taxi from the airport IF you are coming from airport. Otherwise the taxi from the station.

Thanks, all-- we will take a taxi. We are actually flying into Amsterdam on the front end of our trip-- Rome is our last stop, so we are arriving at the train station from Orvieto. But Rome is a big city and I want the ease of not taking buses, etc.

very helpful!
