From Poggibonsi station to San Gimignano

HI,

This is Suchismita here. I and my sister are travelling to Italy (we are in our early 30s). We will be visiting San Gimignano on the 14th of September, 2019. We are staying at Siena. We have booked a train first from Siena till Poggibonsi station. From the Poggibonsi station , we plan to take the Bus130 till San Gimignano.

I would like to know the following about the same:

1) The timetable for Bus 130 from Poggibonsi till San Gimignano, so we can plan the itinerary properly. Does it have a different timetable for weekends, its frequency?

2) Are there other buses too that connect Poggibonsi to San Gimignano.

3) How long will it take to see the whole town (I know it is subjective and depends on how long we take at the individual place), a rough estimate on the same will be good?

Thanks and regards

Did you find Bus 130 on Rome2Rio.com? That site has a link to the bus company so you can get its timetable.

Thank you so much..no I got it from Google maps. What I was expecting to know is if the schedule shown still works fine for September mid.

Schedules that are seasonal are typically marked either with the effective dates of the schedule or as estate (summer) or inverno (winter). I see no such notations on the 130 bus schedule linked to Google Maps, but it would be wise to try to check other sources to see if you get the same schedule.

As to your question #3, I spent at least 3-4 hours in San Gimignano on each of my 2 visits.

Roshni,

You can take bus 130- As directly from Siena (Via Tozzi) to San Gimignano.
and Bus 130-Di back to Siena. There's no need to take the train to Poggibonsi.

The bus schedules linked above are in effect now. You may want to check the timetables at the end of summer

I took this bus when I visited San Gimignano from Siena.
The bus does stop right in front of the Poggibonsi train station.

I spent around 3 hours visiting San Gimignano, and that included having lunch too.

I wrote a trip report if you're interested: Beautiful Siena...

I'm curious... Are you planning to visit Poggibonsi before going to San Gimignano?

Have a wonderful trip!
