I'm staying in Ostia and would like to go to Ostia Antica. I thought someone told me there was a train that went from the beach area to the archeological park. Can anyone tell me about this?
It is the train that goes to Rome. If I remember correctly, it would be the first stop. I took the train to Ostia Antica from Rome and as I remember the next stop was Ostia.
There is. A commuter type run. Goes to the Piramide station/stop. The park stop is about a quarter mile from the entrance but well marked. Technically it doesn't go to Rome just the south side of Rome - ends at Piramide.
Where in Ostia? There are several train stops in Ostia.
The trains into Ostia and as I remember makes two or three stops in Ostia along the beach area. Any stop will do as long as the train says Piramide station. That is the end of the line.
It is on the Roma Lido line. Here is a map form the ATAC website. Lower left you will see Ostia and it’s beach stops starting at Cristoforo Columbo and Ostia Antica two stops in toward the city.
There is a trip planner here.
Thank you. My hotel is closer to Lido Centrale so I'll take that to Ostia Antica! Thank you.
