From Monterossa to Florence

Ciao!

We will be departing Monterossa al Mare on Friday morning June 26th for a stay in Florence. Researching to figure out if train or bus travel is preferable. Not in a hurry to get to Florence so speed is not the issue. Ease/simplicity of travel is. Maybe a view of the countryside if applicable.

any thoughts? and many thanks.

There is no bus.
You would just search trenitalia https://www.trenitalia.com/ using the Italian spelling for Florence

from: Monterosso
to: Firenze S. M. Novella

The tickets for June 26 have not been made available to purchase.
Check 90 to 120 days in advance

You'll be changing trains at last once. Most of the routings involve only regional trains. They don't have reserved seats and their fares do not go up as the travel date approaches. The only reason to buy a ticket in advance, really, is so you don't get hung up behind a line of other purchasers at a ticket window or vending machine.

If you buy a regional ticket in Italy, don't forget to validate it in the little machine on/near the platform before boarding.

If time is not of the essence, then hop off the train in Pisa for a couple of hours. They have a tower or something, I've been told.

Make your searches on Trenitalia using first Firenze SM Novella and then Firenze Campo di Marte as arrival station in the "TO" field.

Not until June 14.

Not until June 7, don't be so pessimistic!
