From Milan to Cinque Terre

I will be going to Milan for Expo then will go to Cinque Terre from Milan. Basic question, what is the best way to go there? By train? How to go there? Some suggest to stay two nights there, would it be too long? Thanks in advance

Two nights would be the minimum, that gives you a full day without travel.

Train is certainly the best/easiest, it typically takes a train from Milan to Genoa, then a regional train to the towns of the Cinque Terre. Sometimes you can find something more direct, but would likely require Monterosso as the destination. Play around with routes on Trenitalia.com

I always suggest trains. They are so relaxing and comfy and you can just enjoy the ride and the views. Oh goodness no, 2 nights would not be too long at all. Have you got your expo tickets yet? We have spent 3 days there so far since it opened and plan to go again later. Italian safety laws limit how many can enter in a day and since a ticket allows you to stay all day and night and there is so much to see, do and eat plus a Cirque show, people are staying all day. Those with tickets are guaranteed to get in. Those who have not bought in advance are not guaranteed. In case you haven't gotten them yet, here is where to buy them- https://tickets.expo2015.org It is well worth it!!!
