Is train better than the bus?
Any recommendations for a hotel nearby the bus station or train station for 1 night?
Thanks Teresa
Neither one is better or worse. The bus is a few minutes faster and a couple of euro cheaper, but the trains are just as comfortable. It’s a short 50 mile journey anyhow.
Trains depart from FIRENZE SANTA MARIA NOVELLA station, Florence main station, and are operated by Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com).
Buses are now operated by the new company for Tuscany’s bus transportation called Autolinee Toscana (https://www.at-bus.it/it/strumenti/trip-planner.html), the bus line is still number DD, the same as with the previous operator, and depart from the historic FIRENZE LEOPOLDA, Florence first station (now a convention center) next to the Opera House and to the Porta Al Prato commuter rail station.
