Hi..my wife and I are hoping to stay two nights in Cinque Terra before flying home to California after a month in Italy. Is Genoa a decent airport to fly out of? and is it an easy trek to get from Cinque Terra to the airport? Thank you all for your great advice...

Not sure about the airport in Geno but the airport in Pisa is the same distance to the south and seems to be a bit larger. Delta used to have flights into Pisa. There is a train stop at the Pisa airport which is 5 minutes away from the Pisa Centrale train station.

We were just in Genoa and Cinque Terre last week and started that leg by flying from Naples to Genoa (GOA) airport. Nothing special about the airport and seemed easy to travel in/out of (not that far from the main city and can be done by Volabus). We took the local train to do some hiking in Cinque Terre and took it back to our hotel in Genoa (very easy) near Genova Principe (bus station). We have been in Italy for a month and this was no more difficult than any place else in our travel and plan for another two months in Italy. BTW the trains do not always run on time in Italy especially in Cinque Terre.
