I am interested in taking advantage of the Friday night opening at the Vatican Museum - I have read that certain galleries at not open at this time does anyone know if you can access the Pinoteca Gallery during this time.
Thanks
Here is a list of what will be available:
Visitors will be able to admire important collections, following an itinerary that includes the Pio-Clementine Museum, the Egyptian Museum, the Upper Galleries (Candelabra, Tapestries and Maps), the Raphael's Rooms, the Borgia Apartment, the Collection of Modern Religious Art, the Sistine Chapel.

Hi Donna
I read the same info - but since they only mention the Modern Art I was wondering if that meant the rest of the Pinoteca was closed - has anyone visited during these late hours?
I have and I don't recall the Pinacoteca being open. You can email them to see if they can answer your question further.

They are separate collections in different areas of the complex. You can double check by email, but it doesn't sound like the pinocateca is open. I seem to recall that the pinocateca is not typically open during special hours – but again double check that.
Hi Donna Thanks for the link. The Vatican quickly responded and confirmed that the Pinoteca is closed on Friday evenings.
We just booked the 7 pm Happy Hour ,Oct 2nd, with the Friday night visit to the museum. That might help you mentally if you miss a little art. Only 15 euro.
