I am looking for a group tour of the Vatican with a French speaking guide. I don't know why this is so hard.

Try the bus tour companies like Green Line, Carrani & Viatour - they offer tours in a various languages. The Vatican audio guide is available in French.
Your best bet would be to ask your questions on a French language message board. Tripadvisor has boards in several languages now.

Thanks Sam, I located a tour guide from a write who covers Roma. jennifer Cody is the one. Viator was useless. They told me they could help, but then when I booked said they could not provide a Franche biligal guide. The American Express Concierge also recommended them twice, despite the fact that they dont provide that service. Your ideas were good and I appreciate the reply.
