Has anyone used this app at FCO Airport? And do they pick you up at the same place the Official Taxi Line is at Arrivals?

I'm curious why you would call a taxi to a taxi stand rather than just take a taxi from the stand.
FWIW we used AppTaxi with good results in several northern cities in Italy.

Yes, taxicabs must pick up passengers only at the designated taxi stands in front of each terminal. Why would you use the app at FCO? just walk out of the terminal and get a taxi at the taxi stand there are dozens lined up at all times of the day and night.

Walk outside to official taxi stand
Wait your turn -we’ve never waited more than few minutes
Check with driver if you intend to use credit card
Or simply hand driver the 50 euros fixed rate fee and your destination address
No tip required

You may have to wait for a taxi van but there will be one

I could not, for the life of me, get the app to work while we were there last month (October). It's super easy to take the train into Rome from FCO, if you want to save a wad of cash. Getting to the airport to fly out, we had our hotel call a cab...stress free. We got bamboozled by one cabbie who charged us twice as much to get from the Vatican back to our hotel. Ugh. People behind him were honking and he was yelling at us to hurry up and get out of the cab. He sure knew what he was doing.

Can you assume that all of the taxis in the line at the airport are "official"? If not, what should you look for to distinguish the official ones from the others?
