Free/discounted admission to museums with disabled placard

I did a search and the previous topics were quite old, I was hoping for more current information.
With a WA placard and the WA state ID card associated with it, what are the steps involved with getting into the museums? Does one have to make a reservation or just show up and bypass the lines and go directly to ticket booth? We are planning on going to multiple museums in Venice, Florence and Rome.
Thanks for any info.

Don't count on a state Id to mean much in an Italian museum. I would google each museum individually to research their policy.
When Searching here, filter by "two years or newer".
Good luck.

My husband’s disability is obvious, he is blind and uses a guide dog. I check each museum’s website. Some say no reservation and just go to the ticket office. Some I need to reserve an entry time but at no cost. At the Uffizi we were plucked out of the line to go ahead. Sometimes we do need to show some documentation for his guide dog.

It looks as if there’s some type of agreement for US citizens to gain free and immediate entrance to Italian State museums for those with official disability ID documentation. I also see mentioned to check beforehand with the museum. Worth looking further into.

If your disability is visible and you have a disability card, you should easily receive free admittance to national museums. Typically you just go to the ticket office. The Uffizi museum has an office opposite from the main entrance where you pick up your tickets.
