Hi All
I am a Canadian senior travelling thru Italy on Frecciarosa trains. I have registered to be a member on the Trenitalia train booking site but when I go to book a senior rate it won’t allow me to get the ticket. Do you need to be an Italian resident to get the senior rate?

You need to have the Carta Freccia discount card

The discount card is thought for seniors who want to travel last minute without paying the extortionate Base (I.e. walk-up) fares.
Many times you can save more getting other discounted tickets on trenitalia.com or using Italotreno's high speed trains.
