Frecciabianca Seating Map - do these seats face one another?

We are trying to book our train tickets to La Spezia from Rome.

I looking at the above link- can you tell if seats 15 and 16 a are facing each other? Does the larger portion of the green behind the seat designate which direction the seat faces? And with the nose of the train to the left of the screen, is that the direction of forward motion of travel? I want two single seats facing one another or two side by side seats facing forward, and probably at the opposite ends of the water closet, am assuming at the opposite end of the WC is the luggage storage in the car. Thanks!

That URL doesn't actually display a seat plan, so I can't comment specifically about seats 15 and 16.
Most train carriages contain a mixture of traditional seats facing each other, often with a small table in between, and "airline style" seats where you face the back of the seat in front of you.
You can usually tell from the diagram which are which.

But, you cannot tell in advance which seats are forward or backward facing. Trains are totally symmetrical. If it goes one way from A to B, then it goes in the opposite direction from B to A, seats which were facing forwards are now facing backwards, and vice-versa.
And, at some intermediate stations trains change direction. The station is a terminus, they enter going one way and exit the other way, so you start facing forwards and arrive facing backwards, or vice-versa.

I guess the link doesn't work. In selecting my tickets, I checked pick my seat and car 1 shows up - two single seats in first class 15 and 16a look like they are facing each other so guess will take my chances. I don't care about forward motion or which way anymore, just want two facing seats. This is in the first class car.

I went to booking for that train and check the "choose seat" function. It looks to me like they face each other across a table, at least in car 5 they showed. That is 2nd class.

Frecciabianca trains are pulled by a single power car, so yes, looks like that is the case showing it to the left. But it could get reversed. The power car will always be leading, but the cars could get reversed at the beginning or the end of the journey. Booking seats facing each other is always my method, as wife hates traveling "backwards".

Edit - 1st class car 1, yes they are facing each other, but not showing a table, but that doesn't mean there is not one.

Unless the train is full, which rarely is, you can always change. Or you can ask people to exchange. It’s very common.

From your description , this sounds like these seats are single row facing one another , and the larger green portion is the seat ( with two arms on each , indicating direction . ( probably an ETR 610 carriage ) here are the seating charts - https://www.seat61.com/Europe-train-seat-plans.htm#Italy I just purchased about eight trips ( first class ) for late September and October on Trenitalia Also , carriage plan here -https://www.dropbox.com/s/80p6ft3ffxqmx4n/ETR610-from-June-2012.pdf?dl=0
